An annual report that reads like a picture book
Impact report and fundraising campaign for an adult and early-childhood literacy nonprofit.
2.3×Year-end appeal
48 → 16Pages
3Foundations citing it
Challenge
A spreadsheet of remarkable numbers and no story to hold them. The previous report was 48 pages; the board suspected nobody read past page 4.
Approach
We cut it to 16 pages and gave every spread one number, one face, and one sentence. Illustrated chapter openers by the founder. Set in a typeface designed for early readers.
Outcome
The report became the centerpiece of a year-end appeal that raised 2.3× the prior year. Three foundations cited it in their grant letters.
